Sustainability

Sustainability is important to The Hound Project, so they have put in place a few rules to ensure that the impact on the environment is kept to a minimum. They produce locally. Most of the purchasing, printing and production of fabrics takes place locally, namely in Hungary. This is to ensure that the ecological footprint is reduced. Avoiding air miles in the sourcing and production phase contributes to a more sustainable future. Not to mention that it is useful in the quality control phase. So when you buy our products, you also support Hungarian craftsmanship. No waste system.

They work without stock to reduce waste as much as possible. They are also working to completely reduce production waste, so they tailor all their patterns to minimize waste reduction and use the leftover fabric to cut or fill their toys. Where possible, they always reuse or donate unwanted material so that it gets a new life.

Recycling

They use recycled fabrics. All the filling they use in their coats and toys is made from recycled PET bottles. They are proud that they have not added unnecessary plastic to the environment.

Signature look

Their signature look is vibrant and colorful. That's why their products are heavily printable. To be more environmentally friendly, they have opted for sheet transfer printing. It is a lot less polluting than traditional dyeing of fabrics. It also produces no harmful waste. The Hound Project does not use leather. Because they understand what happens behind the scenes in the leather industry. They believe that no animal should suffer so that another can wear its skin. And that is why they have chosen to use vegan leather. It is a man-made polyurethane-based fabric. It is strong, very durable and comes in an incredible variety of colours, or with their own print design.
